The moment you decided to allow someone through the fortress you’ve built. You’ve let your defences down. The intense fear that you’ve just handed someone the very things they would need to hurt you and the overwhelming concern that is their intention. An incredible swing of stupidity washes over you. The disbelief that they would never hurt you. Intense swings of joy and fear. You feel like you head is exploding, you are exploding.
This work explores the intense emotional swings I, someone with borderline personality disorder, experienced whilst in a relationship; intense fear of abandonment, paranoia, anger, dichotomous thinking.
