'it's okay now 1-10' pen on paper, 2017.
10 selected works from a series of drawings created from photographs i attempted to destroy. The photographs underwent a variety of processes in attempts to ruin them. I printed and collected physical photographs of myself which i feel deeply ashamed or uncomfortable about. I then doused them in various chemicals including; bleach, hydrogen peroxide and acetone in an attempt to corrupt or erase myself. I then set them on fire. The fire interacted with the chemicals to create images with these burns or patches of erased data. These corrupted images became the references for the portraits of my face. I wanted to create distorted self portraits to illustrate the distortion i feel towards my own face.
